The Freeport Economic Development Corporation (FEDC) Board of Directors provides policy direction, financial oversight, and strategic leadership in support of economic growth within the City of Freeport. The board of directors for the Freeport Economic Development Corporation (FEDC) comprises local business leaders, elected officials, and engaged citizens. The board brings diverse perspectives and helps the FEDC staff set their goals for the year. The Board is responsible for stewarding public funds dedicated to economic development and ensuring that all activities align with state law, local policy, and the long-term interests of the community.
The Board operates in compliance with the Texas Open Meetings Act, the Texas Public Information Act, and the Texas Local Government Code.

The Board acts as a policy-making body. Day-to-day administration is managed by EDC staff. All meetings are conducted in accordance with the Texas Open Meetings Act. Citizens wishing to address the Board may do so during the designated public comment portion of the meeting agenda.
Budget & Financial Information
The Freeport EDC Board adopts an annual budget in accordance with Texas law and City policy. The budget outlines projected revenues, program expenditures, and administrative costs for the fiscal year.

Interested in Serving?
The Freeport Economic Development Corporation Board of Directors is composed of community members appointed by the Freeport City Council. Directors must meet eligibility requirements established by state law and City ordinance. Applications are retained by the City and considered as vacancies occur.
