The City of Freeport Brownfields Assessment Program
The City of Freeport (City) Brownfields Assessment Program provides funds for eligible brownfield activities within the city limits, with a target area focus of Census Tract (CT) 48039664300 and CT 48039664400. Properties will be selected for funding when the intended redevelopment creates a positive economic impact to the community and supports the City’s goals and meets EPA funding requirements. The funds can be used for community outreach, creation of a brownfield site inventory, environmental site assessments(Phase I ESA & Phase II ESA) and reuse planning when necessary. As a part of this program, the City is entitled to directly fund assessments that support redevelopment efforts. To request funds through the City’s Brownfield Program, click here.
