BIG NEWS for Freeport businesses!

The Freeport Economic Development Corporation is continuing to invest in the businesses that invest in our community.

We know the cost of materials, labor, construction, signage, and property improvements has increased. That means the same project can cost significantly more today than it did just a few years ago. In response, the EDC has updated several Business Improvement Grant categories to provide more financial support and put more dollars back into the hands of Freeport business owners.

Beginning October 1, 2026, increased reimbursement opportunities will be available for façade improvements, signage, property improvements, fire and safety improvements, and the MEGA Grant.

These updates are part of our continued effort to make the grant program more useful, more responsive, and better aligned with the real costs businesses are facing today.
When we support local businesses, we are also investing in:
