Congratulations, Gulf Food Mart!

The Freeport Economic Development Corporation is proud to recognize Gulf food mart as the newest recipient of a Business Improvement Grant.

Gulf Food Mart is making a significant investment of approximately $1.7 million to expand and revitalize its property at 131 E. 5th St. The project includes improvements designed to enhance the appearance and functionality of the business while continuing to serve residents, visitors, and the many travelers and commercial vehicles that use State Highway 1495 and the Port of Freeport corridor.

Through the Business Improvement Grant Program, the Freeport EDC approved up to $33,500 in matching grant assistance for eligible landscaping, façade, property, and sign improvements. This partnership supports private investment that strengthens Freeport's commercial corridors and encourages continued economic growth.

This marks Gulf Food Mart's first Business Improvement Grant and represents the 15th Business Improvement Grant awarded by the Freeport EDC this fiscal year.
